Staying abroad

Under terms of clause 324 of the law, a recipient of an old-age pension who stays abroad temporarily will continue to receive the pension for up to 3 months to his Israeli bank account. Under certain conditions specified on the old-age website, the National Insurance Institute will continue to pay the pension during the stay abroad beyond the 3-month period.

A woman receiving an old-age pension as a housewife is not entitled to continue receiving her pension beyond the 3-month period.

If you as a recipient of an old-age pension intend to stay abroad for than 3 months, you need to notify the National Insurance Institute. Your stay abroad may cause debts that you will be obliged to repay to the NII.

A pension will not be paid to someone in an enemy country.
